Dean Rogers

As a boy, his mother observed Dean Rogers reading The Washington Post at a very young age. Who would have known that it would be the building blocks of his journey? Since that day, he has dedicated his life to learn all that is learnable. He read everything from encyclopedias, to books, to dictionaries, to magazines. While watching television one day, a few information-based programs, included game shows, news, and movies pushed his learning to a new degree. The programs included game shows, news, and movies. He parlayed all that knowledge into the Prince George's County School System for many years.

Dean's reporting dream began back in junior high school, when he started to chronicle the events that shape his life. Whether it was the annual family vacation or the local science fiction convention, he shot numerous pictures and recorded his thoughts so he could truly appreciate his history. During his senior year at Friendly High, he wrote what was to be his first masterpiece, "Advanced Space Academy – A One Week Journey". He sent the eleven-page article back to the U.S. Space Camp staff. The article was highly praised for being "one of the best written articles in the history of U.S. Space Camp." From then on, he knew what he wanted to do for rest of his life — to be a reporter.

Since then, he has trained in Broadcast Journalism at Bowie State University (2008) in Bowie, MD earning a B.S. in Communications. In addition, he gained experience in news production and editing through field experiences with Bowie Community Media Corporation, Prince George's Community Television, Bowie State University Television. He also wrote scripts for a variety of internet quiz shows for over five years.

As a lifelong movie buff, he can truly say he seen no less than one hundred films every year. He took his love of movies to the next step when he became a co-host for Eclipse Magazine TV in the fall of 2005. While at EMTV, he interviewed celebrities, attended red carpet premieres, and attended a wide variety of movie screenings. In January 2009, Dean took a leap of faith and started his own entertainment blog, The Rogers Revue. His life-long journey of studying the silver screen and writing about what he learned has finally earned him a place in the Washington Area Film Critic Association.

A former game show winner, a trivia buff, and a proud WAFCA member, Dean Rogers is ready for the next scene in his journey.
